You might have noticed that over the past 6 months or so, I’ve really switched the focus of my photography. I used to share an equal amount of photographs from weddings, engagements, and families. Lately, it’s been mostly maternity, newborn, and family. That’s intentional.
With the hard moments I’ve walked through personally over the past few years, it’s given me the drive to document motherhood in a way that I hadn’t been as passionate about before. Losing my youngest son, Philip, halfway through my pregnancy has lead to a shift in the vision and heart behind my business. Every moment you have with your children is precious. Motherhood is a gift and the little years are fleeting. I feel it myself as a mother. I want my photography to mirror the beauty that comes from it, whether your baby is on the inside or you’re in the midst of the little years.
This has led to a completely revamped and personalized experience for incoming clients. Digital files are not where your photographs should end. I want you to leave your session knowing that you are doing your family a service. You aren’t just getting the next batch of photographs to post on social media, but instead are creating heirlooms your children will hold onto.
We joke about how none of us will have nice furniture to hand down to our children because we’re all buying IKEA. It’s nice, but it won’t last. Do we really want that to be the same for our albums and the framed photos lining our hallways? Do we want to have to hand our children a hard drive or a cloud password when it comes to their childhood memories? Of course not. We want to hand them their baby album. We want them to feel the weight of their own family history in their hands.
From now on, every session is designed with the promise that you’ll walk away with something meaningful in your hands—a proof box, an album, or framed prints to cherish. The products that I am offering are archival, which will last for years to come. Truly, they are a family heirloom. Keep in mind that most consumer-level printers do not carry lasting quality like professional, archival ones do. You will still have access to all of your digitals (and a digital-only collection), but I will also come alongside you to take the next step of making sure your memories don’t get lost on your phone forever.
Life might be busy, but don’t allow time to slip through your fingers. I’ll be waiting to hear from you! Click here to get started on preserving your family memories.
PS. Don’t worry! I will still be photographing weddings, but on a more limited basis. While the heart of my business has shifted more toward family, maternity, and newborn photography, weddings are where I first fell in love with photography. I don’t know that I could ever 100% give them up!
Don't allow time to slip through your fingers. Take the next step to preserving your memories in a way that can be passed down through the generations.
