The Archer Family Foundation is a newly forming non-profit that will be coming alongside families that are living with a hydrocephalus diagnosis. Hydrocephalus is a condition where there is excess fluid built up on the brain. There is no cure and the only treatment is brain surgery. Shunts are placed and can fail, leading to surgery after surgery.

Upon finding out that Jillian and John’s sweet Abby would be born with Down Syndrome and Hydrocephalus, there was a great deal of support from organizations for families that have a child with Down Syndrome. For hydrocephalus, there was not quite as much. In order to create more support for families like their own, they decided to form their nonprofit. It was an honor to photograph this family and to be given the opportunity to spread awareness alongside them.
